Freshwater Pearls

Freshwater pearls are the most common type of cultured pearl. They are produced by the hyriopsis cumingii freshwater mussel, mostly in freshwater lakes and rivers in China. Traditionally ranging from 3mm to 12mm in size these beautiful pearls come in a wonderful array of natural shapes and colours ranging from pink, to peach, to lavender and white. Treasured for centuries, freshwater pearls are still the most popular pearls used in Jewellery making today.
